This Teapot is made from wheel-thrown porcelain with handbuilt elements and is decorated with inlaid slip and trailed glazes. It pours very well and does not drip. Pour boiling water into the pot and swirl, pour out and then add a few teabags or use a tea sac/tea ball with loose leaf.
The dimensions of this piece are 9” x 5.5” x 5.5” This Teapot holds about 24 oz.
The surfaces of this work are highly decorated and are reminiscent of architectural spaces and traditional craft media. The color palette is monochromatic and subtle in order to further explore how value (lightness or darkness) affects pattern and form.
Handmade objects enhance the experience of eating and drinking; I hope you take as much pleasure from using my pieces as I felt in creating them.
